New York, NY – April 5, 2006 – Clinical psychology is
defined as an application of psychology towards problematic mental stress under
the context of health and social care. In this field of
study, clinical psychologists assess the mental health problems of people using
scientific research to understand them, determine the root cause, and eventually
for applying psychotherapy. But for Dr. Arthur Weider, clinical psychology goes
beyond standard procedures and it actually involves personal experiences and
insights. To discover more, readers are encouraged to follow
Weider’s in-depth analysis as Xlibris proudly releases his critically-acclaimed
book A Weider Weltanschauung: A Wider Perspective of
Psychology.
This book paints a lively portrait of Weider’s success, which
would include his involvement in developing the Wechsler Bellevue Adult
Intelligence Scale IQ test, how he introduced psychological testing and
counseling to corporate America, his evaluation of the infamous Lt. William
Calley following the My Lai massacre, and his being one of the first mental
health professionals to use radio and television as media for public education
in topics of psychology. The diversified career of the author
has even branched into the entertainment industry. The book also features
thought-provoking descriptions of the many turning points of his life, which
include the time he grew up in a poor family in New York’s South
Bronx. It was in this period when the author learned
adversity and gained the optimism that helped him overcome many challenges of
his hard childhood (he even lost his father at age ten). At
age fourteen, Weider became fascinated with the study of psychology and since
then has excelled and established an illustrious career.
Interestingly the second section of the book refers to a
compilation of articles and writings that have been published over a span of
more than sixty years. Readers will be impressed by the final section as it
concentrates on some of the more interesting patients the author has treated
over the years. The section is accentuated by colorful
anecdotes and case histories. Compelling and immersive, A
Weider Weltanschauung: A Wider Perspective of Psychology will enthrall
readers with its in-depth focus on the world of psychology, the professionals
who make a difference, and the patients whose disorders became true testimonies
of our ever-changing society. Get a copy of this great book
